Those looking for a quick and healthy meal at a reasonable price need to look no further than The Greenery, Sayville’s newest spot for salads, bowls, and smoothies.

Tucked in a brick building at 289 Railroad Avenue, The Greenery has hoped to provide a “healthy, active, fun, lifestyle brand” to diners since its original opening announcement in 2020.

The fast-casual spot finally opened in mid-October 2023 after multiple setbacks caused the opening to be pushed back nearly three years.

Since then, it’s proven to diners near and far that good things come to those who wait – and so, apparently, does delicious food.

“The salad was amazing!” wrote Yelp reviewer Ally S. of San Francisco, California.

She customized her own bowl and shouted out the honey balsamic dressing, which she said tasted “very good.”

Additionally, she said her salad was “chopped to perfection.”

“I cannot wait to go back!”

The Greenery offers a smattering of specialty salads and bowls, like the “Veghead,” which features herb-roasted potatoes, spiced chickpeas, turmeric cauliflower, and more.

For those who have a specific craving, the shop also allows customers to build their own salad or bowl, with a whopping 15 dressing options and more than double the selection for toppings.

To wash it down (or maybe for a meal itself), The Greenery has five smoothies on its menu, also with a handful of add-ons available.

Seaford resident Jenna K. wrote on Yelp that she tried the Golden Sunrise smoothie alongside her bowl.

The drink, which is a blend of pineapple, banana, mango, coconut milk, turmeric, and ginger powder, was both tasty and filling.

“I barely made a dent in my meal and will enjoy my leftovers tomorrow,” she wrote.

Besides being praised for its food selections, many customers have noted The Greenery’s swanky and welcoming interior.

“Upon walking into The Greenery, I was impressed with the atmosphere,” said reviewer Jessica O. on Yelp.

“The whole thing looks beautiful like a magazine picture,” she said, which made it all the better when “everything was fresh and tasty.”

Jenna S. of Sayville echoed these comments, writing on Yelp that “the fresh ingredients, variety, and atmosphere makes for the perfect mix.”

“This place is a perfect addition to the town,” she wrote, “I can't wait to go back!

The Greenery is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, visit its website here
